• | FMF is the most common autoinflammatory disease with colchicine confirmed as the most effective first-line therapy. |
• | The presence of a prevalent lympho-myeloid infiltrate in synovitis, might confer colchicine resistance to FMF arthritis. |
• | Detailed information about histopathological pattern of synovitis in FMF patients may help to better understand the pathogenic mechanisms leading to arthritis, thus allowing a suitable treatment choice. |
