This article discusses various issues related to nutrition, anabolic steroids, and growth hormone. In regards to nutrition, topics include undernutrition and its consequences and dietary assessment. The importance of anabolic steroids and their production, metabolism, and mechanism of action are reviewed. The relationship between anabolic steroids and nutrition also is discussed. Finally, the authors comment on the effects of steroids on organs and metabolism.
