Can carpal tunnel syndrome be evaluated in patients with peripheral neuropathy? The answer is yes. Not only can carpal tunnel syndrome be diagnosed accurately in patients with peripheral neuropathy, its severity also can be established and the most appropriate treatment can be determined and implemented. This article reviews some of the physiologic considerations that need to be addressed in the evaluation and management of carpal tunnel syndrome in patients with peripheral neuropathy.
