Concentration of LTC4 and histamine in serum and IgG against Candida albicans - 25/08/11
Abstract |
Rationale |
The aim of this study was to establish the connection between concentration of LTC4 and histamine and occurrence of IgG against Candida albicans in serum from patients with bronchial asthma.
Methods |
19 patients with bronchial asthma aged 1 to 56 were examined, in whom high concentration of IgG against Candida albicans were established, comparing to the control group (19 patients), in which concentration of IgG against Candida albicans were low. Concentration of histamine (EIA method-Immunotech, France) and LTC4 (EIA method-Amersham, G. Britain) and IgG against Candida albicans (EIA method-Allergopharma, Germany) were estimated.
Results |
In examined group average concentration of IgG against Candida albicans was 32,1IU/ml, of histamine-5,376nM, and of LTC4- 41,58pg/ml. However in the control group average concentration of IgG against Candida albicans was low-0,76IU/ml, of histamine-1,8nM and LTC4-16,2pg/ml.
Conclusions |
High concentration of LTC4 and histamine in serum correlate with high concentration of antibodies IgG against Candida albicans.
