La choroïdite multifocale et la choroïdite ponctuée interne sont deux pathologies choriorétiniennes inflammatoires, appartenant au grand ensemble hétérogène du syndrome des taches blanches. Intéressant principalement l'épithélium pigmentaire rétinien et la choriocapillaire, ces deux entités sont aujourd'hui considérées comme deux expressions différentes d'une même affection ophtalmologique. Elles touchent de façon privilégiée les femmes jeunes, myopes, de manière bilatérale et asymétrique. Les données d'imagerie multimodale confortent l'hypothèse d'un continuum entre ces deux pathologies, et leur distinction clinique tend à s'effacer insensiblement.

Multifocal choroiditis and punctate inner choroidopathy are two inflammatory chorioretinal diseases, belonging to the large heterogeneous group of white dot syndrome. Mainly involving the retinal pigment epithelium and the choroid, these two entities are today considered as two different expressions of the same ophthalmological condition. They mainly affect young, myopic women, bilaterally and asymmetrically. Multimodal imaging data support the hypothesis of a continuum between these two pathologies, and their clinical distinction tends to gradually fade away.
