Voir les affiliationsA very broad spectrum of autoimmune diseases including systemic lupus erythematosus may occur during interferon-alpha treatment [1 , 2 et ]. Moreover, there is a close relationship between systemic lupus erythematosus and interferon-alpha. Interferon-alpha correlates with disease activity and the extent of multiple organ involvement [3 et ]. Furthermore, serum interferon-alpha increases markedly at flare in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus [4 ]. Thus, most authors consider treatment of hepatitis C with interferon alpha to be contraindicated in these patients. We report the case of successful treatment of hepatitis C in a 67-year-old patient with systemic lupus erythematosus.
