Pseudotumor Cerebri and Hypercalcemia Resulting From Vitamin A Toxicity - 11/09/11
Abstract |
Pseudotumor cerebri is a difficult diagnosis to establish. Neurologic symptoms may be lacking, and the patient most often reports headache and vomiting, two rather nonspecific symptoms. A high index of suspicion must be maintained to detect this disorder. We present the case of an adolescent boy whose chief complaint was persistent headache and vomiting. His final diagnosis was pseudotumor cerebri and hypercalcemia resulting from vitamin A toxicity. [Sharieff GQ, Hanten K: Pseudotumor cerebri and hypercalcemia resulting from vitamin A toxicity.
