Immunopathogenesis of atopic dermatitis - 01/09/11
Résumé |
Ultraviolet light sources have been useful in the treatment of atopic dermatitis, and they have facilitated the understanding of the cellular mechanisms involved in this disease. Currently there are a number of phototherapeutic options, which have been found to induce varying degrees of remission, although none have shown to be as effective as preventive therapy. Assessment of the risks and benefits involved and the practical issues like treatment cost and accessibility are necessary to prescribe a particular regimen. As with other therapies, patient education and compliance are important factors in the management of this chronic dermatosis.
