Résumé

In infant and early childhood mental health, the caregiver's emotional and psychological well-being is of utmost importance. There is evidence that this first and foundational relationship of a young child with their caregiver is linked to attachment style, emotional regulation, social skills development, and much more. Adverse childhood experiences can significantly impact a child's future health, highlighting the importance of early caregiver evaluation to bolster supports. This article equips clinicians with the tools to effectively screen and assess caregivers, helping to support families in treatment.
