Highlights

•	The qSOFA is a summative physiological score consisting of systolic blood pressure, respiratory rate, and mental status.
•	The qSOFA has been used to identify patients at risk for adverse outcomes with suspected sepsis.
•	The qSOFA has high specificity in predicting the need for transfusion and hemostatic procedures in blunt trauma.
•	However, the qSOFA has low sensitivity in predicting both interventions in the same population.
•	Clinicians need to monitor patients' physiological changes before proceeding to transfusion and hemostatic procedures.
