• | Despite the global attention to COVID-19, the underlying risk of measles in Pakistan and other areas with inadequate vaccination coverage must not be overlooked. |
• | Pakistan is one of the top 10 countries where measles outbreaks occur due to many children not being vaccinated. |
• | To prevent measles outbreaks in Pakistan, it is vital to vaccinate all children with MMR, especially in rural areas with low coverage. |
• | Targeted vaccination, community engagement, and immunization review are essential to overcome vaccine hesitancy and improve public health in Kurram agency. |
