• | We thus compared the symptoms and viral kinetics between SARS-CoV-2 omicron BA.1/BA.2 and omicron BA.5. |
• | Patients with omicron BA.5 had more severe initial symptoms but exhibited shortened viable viral shedding period than those with omicron BA.1/BA.2. |
• | This finding provides evidence for the current CDC guideline about isolation period for patients with SARS-CoV-2 in omicron BA.5 era. |
