We regret to inform you that the American Heart Journal must retract the 5th Heart in Diabetes Conference Abstract entitled “Association Between Post-Operative Infection and Blood Transfusion in Diabetic Patients Who Underwent Cardiac Surgery” by A. Alzahrani, Z. Bukhari, M. Alqarni, A. Abukhodair. The citation for this article is Am Heart J 2021;242:150.
The American Heart Journal was alerted to potential plagiarism issues with the abstract on February 13, 2022. A review by several members of the American Heart Journal editorial team and the Heart in Diabetes conference organizers substantiated the plagiarism allegation. After careful consideration, it was decided that retracting the abstract was appropriate.
