Background |
To determine the relationship between nurses’ perceptions of hospital ethical climate and their job satisfaction.
Method |
This study was conducted on 110 nurses in teaching hospitals in Jiroft, Iran. The impact of the nurses’ demographic characteristics on their perceptions of hospital ethical climate and their job satisfaction was also investigated. A threefold questionnaire–including a demographic, a hospital ethical climate, and a job satisfaction questionnaire–was used.
Results |
The results indicated that there was a significant direct relationship between the aspects of hospital ethical climate and the nurses’ job satisfaction. There were no relationships between the demographic characteristics and the perceptions of hospital ethical climate and job satisfaction.
Conclusion |
According to results, we recommend that some programs be designed and implemented to improve the quality of the nurses’ working environment so that it can increase their job satisfaction, and ultimately improve their performance, increase their productivity, and reduce their willingness to leave the career.
