Hypnosis is increasingly being used as part of the paediatric care pathway. In the operating theatre, with the administering of premedication or during the induction of anaesthesia, these techniques help to prevent and manage peroperative anxiety and have a beneficial effect on the comfort of young patients and their postoperative recovery. This article presents the experience of Montpellier university hospital, which has been using hypnosis since 2012 and is currently assessing its impact on the patient's postoperative experience.
